New principal for Columbia Crest Academy

Allison Shew, once a teacher there, is the new principal of Columbia Crest A-STEM Academy, the Eatonville School District announced July 5.
She will begin her new duties July 19, after formal approval from the School Board, in preparation for the 2017-18 school year.
“I am honored to be chosen to work with the staff, parents, and –  most importantly – students," Shew said. "I care deeply for this school community and the school district as a whole. I will devote myself to making Columbia Crest the best place for students to thrive.”
Shew was a teacher at Columbia Crest for seven years before earning her administrative credentials two years ago.
She is replacing Angie Ellenbecker, the principal the last four years.
Columbia Crest, located in Ashford, emphasizes STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) in elementary school and middle school curriculum. It has received a state grant through the STEM Lighthouse School program to provide technical assistance and advice to other schools and communities that are creating a STEM-focused learning environment.
