Eagles land all-league honors in baseball and fastpitch

Two Graham-Kapowsin Eagles – catcher Tyler Wheeler and outfielder Thomas Wheeler – have been named to the All-4A South Puget Sound League baseball team for the 2017 season.
The same honor in fastpitch was awarded to G-K outfielder Shawna Burton and teammate Shaina Magat, an infielder.
Burton and Magat are seniors. Both Wheelers are juniors.
Other all-league kudos for the Eagles in fastpitch went to junior Alicia Cox (second team) and Kelsey Brown, Natasha Wood, Andrea Sperberg, Melissa Becker, Baylee Coolbaugh (honorable mention).
Spanaway Lake, a cross-district rival of Graham-Kapowsin, received some of the top league honors. Alisha Babbitt was named Pitcher of the Year, Kristie Cruz was voted Player of the Year, and Allison Sheneman was co-Coach of the Year. She shared that award with Puyallup's Tony Batinovich.
