SFC Samuel D. Atkins Jr. passed away March 5th, 2017 after a long battle with an illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel D Atkins Sr. and Jeanette Atkins of Princeton NJ. his sister Pamela and his grandson Daniel Atkins. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Emma Atkins, his son Samuel Atkins III and his wife Becca and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sam served 22 years as a meteorologist then as a recruiter for the U.S. Army. After his retirement he joined the IRS where he became Union President for the NTEU for 16 years. He moved to Alder WA in 1999 where he spent his last years by the lake that he loved so dearly. He was a man with a huge and loving heart and will be missed deeply by his family.
