G-K's high-scoring offense meets its defensive match

This wasn’t what the Graham-Kapowsin Eagles and their fans had in mind.
At the end of their state 4A high school football tournament quarterfinals game on their home turf at Art Crate Field, they weren’t supposed to be looking at a scoreboard with them on the short end of a 49-17 final score, or see star quarterback Dylan Morris on crutches.
But that’s how the 2017 season ended for the Eagles last Saturday after they were pushed out of the post-season by Woodinville.
In a nutshell, Woodinville’s vaunted defense had its way. Against Graham-Kapowsin’s high-scoring offense, the Falcons essentially continued what they’ve done in beating all 12 of their opponents this year – virtually refuse to let them score.
