David Mettler, age 65, died Nov. 21, 2017. Born Dec. 7, 1951 in Morton, he lived his entire life in the Elbe-Alder area. Dave loved sports and gave freely of his time to a wide variety of youth activities. Baseball was his favorite, and he spent almost 40 years coaching in the community. He was a kind and fair man who always insisted his teams exhibit good sportsmanship above all else.
Dave was an avid backpacker and loved to hike and climb with his family. There are few trails in Washington where his boots have not trod.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy and three sons - Kyle, Brian, and Mark.
