Louie Mettler

Louie Mettler passed away peacefully on August 3, 2017, surrounded by family.

Louie asked that we share these words . . .

Louie wasn’t ready to leave. Too many roads to ride, too many things see. Son of Louis and Anna Mettler, he leaves a wife Kathy of 55 years, a son Lincoln, daughters Diane and Connie, as well as four granddaughters.

Louie spent two years in the army, was a dairyman, and later retired from McChord AFB as a chief stationary engineer. He loved his kids and was proud of their accomplishments

After riding many years on his Harley through the U.S. and Canada, age and injuries ended that. He bought a three-wheeled Can-Am Spyder and was on the road again.

In the back field of the Mettler property, facing the mountain, is a cement post. Beside it the resting place for his ashes. On a clear night, if you listen carefully, you may hear the faint roar of the Spyder heading across the sky.

The family will be holding a memorial service to celebrate his life on Sunday, Sept. 10, at 2 pm at the Ohop Grange. All friends are welcome.
