After two games in the 2A West Central District girls high school basketball playoffs, the Eatonville Cruisers have mixed results from playing on on home-team court or another. Now they’ll get a taste of neutral-court action in must-win situations. .
Eatonville beat Olympic 63-58 Wednesday on the Cruisers’ home court, then lost to Fife 66-22 on Friday in Fife’s gym. The latter outcome dropped the Cruisers into a loser-out contest Feb. 13 against Franklin Pierce in a contest that will be staged at 6 p.m. at Bellarmine Prep in Tacoma, which could lead to two more games at neutral sites – all of which the Cruisers will have to win to keep their season going.
Under the double-elimination format of the WCD playoffs, the winner between Eatonville and FP will need two more victories against opponents (to be decided) in order to secure the fifth and last WCD berth in the regionals. A loss at any point from now on in the district action will end the Cruisers’ hope of advancing.
Franklin Pierce last its first-round district game Feb. 7 to North Kitsap 67-31.
