Loraine Beverley Marshall 11-2-25/2-7-18. Daughter of Carl and Hannah Jensen passed away in peace and comfort with loved ones Wednesday, February 7th. She is preceded in death by husband Bob of over 63 years, daughters Melody and Judy, and son Jim. Loraine is survived by her daughter Robyne; her five grandchildren (spouses): Dean (Sandi), Robb (Tiffany), Erik (Amy), Dan (Jesse), and Nancy (Miguel); and her nine great-grandchildren: Miranda, Mia, Grace, Isabelle, Jake, Scott, Jack, Brooke, and Owen. The family would like to give a special thanks to Carolyn Johnson, Grandma’s “Angel” and loving care-giver whose thoughtfulness and generosity will never be forgotten. Thank you, Carolyn!
Loraine, born in Aberdeen; moved to Eatonville at five years old in 1930. She raised her children as well as several others she considered as her own, nurtured her grandchildren, and was a respected business owner and member of the community. Loraine and Bob owned Bob’s Olympia Tavern for almost 20 years, as well as the Tall Timber Restaurant, which allowed her to leave an unforgettable impression on multiple generations of townsfolk. Loraine was an original member of Eatonville Eagles Aerie 3158. She held nearly every office in the Ladies Auxiliary and later served as a valuable “advisor” to the main club. Her passions included flowers, frogs, quilting, painting, and baking. After retirement from their successful businesses; Loraine and Bob headed south, first to Mexico, and later Arizona, where they had enjoyed being snowbirds for several winters. In her later years, Loraine spent many afternoons with the local Red Hats, relishing the opportunity to wear her favorite red shoes and catch up on gossip with friends. Although she may be gone from Earth, we know she’s smiling in heaven being reunited with the ones she dearly missed. Sweet memories, the love to her family and community, and her joyful smile will reverberate in our hearts for years to come. Loraine will never be forgotten by those she touched, and always remembered with a warm smile!
Because of Loraine’s passion and avid support of the community and local business, the family requests, per her wishes and in lieu of a funeral or celebration, that her memory be honored by supporting local businesses in Eatonville on the weekend of February 23rd-25th. Any additional donations can be made in her name to Eatonville Eagles Aerie 3158.
