Bethel Schools seeks task force members

The Bethel School District is seeking new members for its community-led Long Range Facilities Task Force, as the group begins exploring options to reduce overcrowding if the upcoming school construction bond does not pass.

The task force will study the impact on various district stakeholders — including students and staff — in addition to transportation, maintenance, and the financial bottom line reverberations of the different paths the school board is considering. Among the possibilities are year-round schools, reboundary, and converting an existing middle school into an elementary school. The group will also work on updating the Long Range Facilities Plan.

The first meeting is currently set for Sept. 18 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Pierce County Skills Center (16117 Canyon Rd. E. In Puyallup).

To be considered for the task force, fill out the survey online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/BethelTaskForce.
