Cruiser Wrestlers have great showing at tourneys

Both the Cruiser men’s and women’s wrestling teams competed in tournaments this past weekend.

As a team, the Cruisers would place second out of 19 teams.

Ty Whitney and Mason Vasquez both won their weight classes. Austin Frink, CJ Caeton and Kaden Olsen all took third.

“It was a great showing for the first tourney of the year,” said head coach Mario Ragazzo. “I was very proud of the boys and the way they wrestled with a lot of heart and drive. Our JV wrestlers also did a great job and won the JV tourney. Great job by all.”

The girls headed to Yelm High School to compete in the “Jump On In” tournament with 46 other teams from around the state.

As a team, the girls finished in 12th place out of 47 teams.
