Our dear Dave, age 49, of Eatonville, WA, passed away on October 15, 2019, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup after his 3 year battle with cancer. He was a fighter until the very end, but the cancer won. Dave was loved by all who knew him, and many friends visited him in the hospital. Since a small boy he was a strong willed guy. At the age of 13, he started working for his Uncle Dennis in excavation and septic systems, learning to operate heavy equipment and drive dump trucks. He went on to various contractors before going to Pierce College for Construction Management.
After graduating, Dave was hired by the City of Kent, working in the Development Construction Department, where he was so happy. He worked his way up to become a supervisor in that department. In August 2018, he was surprised by the work staff and the mayor of Kent, being awarded “Employee of the Month”. The Mayor gave him much praise. He made not only himself, but his family very proud.
Dave loved the outdoors. Hunting big game with a muzzle loader and bow, fishing and cooking. Dave made his own jerky, pepperoni and awesome smoked salmon among many other dishes. He enjoyed taking off on weekends to go to his parents river lot, setting up camp with his wife, son and parents and extended family on special holidays.
Dave was an outstanding man, not only at work, but with  his family and friends he was loving, kind and polite. He was his mother’s pillar of strength.
Dave lived in Eatonville, WA, where he leaves the love of his life, Kari (Kuchenmeister )Agnew of 17 years, and his son Corbin Agnew, his parents Daniel & Valerie Agnew of Eatonville, his Grandma Beverly Agnew of Graham and his Grandpa Douglas Agnew, who passed away at home 25 hours after Dave. His brother Thomas Agnew of Graham, Father-in-law, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, many uncles, nieces and nephews.
There are no words that can even express his loss. Only the memories and the comfort that he is no longer in pain. He has left a huge hole in our hearts. A celebration of life will be at a later date. A notification will be sent out and posted.
