Violet O. Sorensen

Violet Odney Sorensen (age 83) died at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, Washington on December 26, 2014 of complications from aggressive lymphoma cancer. Born on March 28, 1931 in Tacoma, Washington. She graduated from Puyallup High School, went to business school in Spokane, worked for Tacoma City Light and married Otto B. Sorensen. Together, they ran Sorensen's Graham Garage from 1965-1998. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage and made their home in Graham, Washington. Survivors include four children, seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. They are: Robert O. Sorensen and wife Geri; Cindy Agnew and husband Dale with son Alan Agnew; Sandra Hilt and husband Mark with son Ted Clark and his son, Michael; plus daughters Jena Casper, Kelsey Hilt and Alisha Hilt; Brent Sorensen with daughter Kara Stuckey and son Steven Sorensen. Vi also has two surviving sisters - Rhea Gillespie of Eatonville and Gladys Cowell of Seattle. Vi was preceded in death by her husband, Otto B. Sorensen (2013); her sister Virginia Hill (2009), her mother Violet A. Henry (2001) and Arnold Thorsen (1982). A Celebration of Life for both Vi and Otto Sorensen will be held at Graham Emmanuel Church at 22316 106th Avenue East in Graham on January 8, starting at 6 p.m. Relatives and friends are welcome at the service and the reception at the church immediately following it. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are welcome and should be made payable to the Good Samaritan Foundation, P.O. Box 5, Graham, WA 98338.
