A majority of New Year’s resolutions include a fitness and health goal. For those who fall under that category, they can begin working towards a more fit year by registering for the No Sun Fun Run.

The No Sun Fun Run begins at 10 a.m. on Jan. 19 at Heritage Recreation Center ball fields, located off 128th Street and 94th Avenue in Puyallup.

“Rain, hail, sleet or snow, the ‘No Sun Fun Run’ will take place no matter what weather our South Sound winter provides,” a Pierce County news release stated.

The 5K fun run starts and finishes at Heritage Recreation Center. The route takes runners along the scenic Nathan Chapman Memorial Trail, through South Hill Park, and then back to the finish line, the news release stated.

“The 5K course I very flat and stroller friendly, while the one-mile course is perfect for younger children and runners or walkers who are new to the fun run circuit,” the news release stated. “This run is a non-competitive event and is chip timed. All ages and abilities are welcome.”

Same-day registration and check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. at the fun run location.

The fee is $20 per person by Jan. 4 or $30 per person on race morning. Tech t-shirts are an additional $17 while supplies last. Each participant will receive a numbered race bib and swag bag.
