Mount Rainier Eagles Aerie #3158 members are getting ready for their Fourth of July barbecue Thursday, July 4 at the Eagles Club.
“It starts when the parade ends, and we’ll keep on going as long as everyone’s having fun,” said Eagles member Vicky Merrill.
The chicken dinner includes half a barbecued chicken with potato salad, beans and watermelon, for $10.
Also on the menu is a hot dog meal, including a hot dog, chips, soda, pop, and water for $5.
The event will be served at the Eagles Club, and Merrill said more than a dozen volunteers from the club are getting involved.
“Two or three people make the potato salad and cut the watermelon,” she said. “We cook over 50 pounds of potatoes, so that makes for a big potato salad. And we need to get the field mowed and clean the tables.” The club is located near the intersection of Center Street E. and Weyerhaeuser Rd. N.
