Eatonville Track and Field competes in Icebreaker Invitational

The Eatonville High School track and field team opened up their 2019 season by competing in the Rainier “Icebreaker” Invitational this past Saturday, March 16, at Rainier High School.

Both the boys and girls team finished in sixth place overall out of the 17 teams participating. A few highlights for the Cruisers was Jahmai Judah and Dylan Watters in the pole vault competition. They both jumped to a height of 12 feet six inches to tie for first place. Sawyer Noel placed fourth in the 1600-meter race and fifth in the 3200-meter. Joshua Dietz took home fifth place in the 110-meter hurdles. Adam Jensen finished in third place in the javelin. To round things out for the boys, Kekoa Visperas took home third place in the long jump.

On the girls side, Freshman Kya Stewart finished in second place in the 100-meter race, Halle Noel took home second in the 300-meter hurdles, Kaedyn Byrd threw the javelin to a fourth-place finish, Amelia Bridgham finished in fourth in the pole vault and the four-times 100-meter relay team of Alivia Bertram, Halle Noel, Abigail Springer and Kya Stewart would came in second.

Their next meet will be Thursday, March 21 at Franklin Pierce High School followed by a home meet on Wednesday, March 27.
