U.S. Department of Education comes for sixth annual Green Strides Tour

It is our pleasure to invite you to join us as we welcome the U.S. Department of Education for the sixth annual Green Strides Tour. This year’s tour, with the theme “Whole Child, Whole School Sustainability,” will visit Washington schools on Oct. 28‚Äî30, 2019.

U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools is the first comprehensive federal recognition award for sustainable schools and its Green Strides Tour has now completed over 100 events in 20 states to showcase and celebrate this school stainability work.

Columbia Crest was a recipient of the award in 2016 for its innovative efforts to reduce environmental impact and costs; improve health and wellness; and teach effective environmental education through a hands-on approach.

Join us to recognize the green efforts of our three elementary schools on Wednesday, October 30th. The U.S. Department of Education is "Putting the Focus on Whole School  Whole Child Sustainability." Please join one of our sites or all three schools.

10:50 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. Weyerhaeuser Elementary, 6105 365th Street East, Eatonville, Washington.  Transportation offered for the afternoon.

12:10 p.m. to 1:10 p.m. Eatonville Elementary at the GRITS Farm, 44019 Kjelstad Road E Eatonville, WA.

1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Columbia Crest A-STEM Academy, 24503 SR 706 E. Ashford, WA.  Bus returns to Weyerhaeuser at approximately 3 p.m.
