NATURE CENTER VOLUNTEERS

Join the center for habitat restoration work from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays, Nov. 1 and 15, at 1919 S. Tyler St., Tacoma, WA 98405. Those interested care for the park by removing invasive plant species, re-planting areas with native plants and helping those plants thrive. No experience necessary. Come dressed for the weather and prepared to get dirty. Work parties occur rain or shine. Children must be accompanied by adults.

TURKEY SHOOT GOLF TOURNAMENT

Join America’s Credit Union (ACU) and the ACU Foundation for the 19th annual Turkey Shoot Golf Tournament starting at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at the Eagles Pride Golf Course on Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM ). This tournament raises funds each year to help the troops and their families during the holidays. All donations will benefit the military communities of JBLM and Camp Murray through the ACU Foundation. The ACU Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization chartered in 2019 with the mission of enhancing the lives of military members, south sound residents and their families. Recipients of tournament funds include Santa’s Castle and the Holiday Assistance Program. Visit youracu.org/turkeyshoot to reserve a spot in the tournament and secure a sponsorship package.

COMMUNITY APPLE FEST

The Eatonville Community Apple Fest will run from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at 203 Washington Ave. S., in Eatonville. The event will feature pressed apple juice, a potluck and live music. Bring apples, dd them to the collection for the finest apple juice. Suggested donation per half gallon is $4. This is an event for all ages and is family oriented.

EAGLES HOLIDAY  CRAFT SALE

The Eagles will hold their Holiday Craft Sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 8-9 at 100 Weyerhaeuser Road N. in Eatonville. There will also be a $1 raffle benefitting Eatonville Family Agencies, with 3:30 p.m. drawings on both days. Folks do not have to be present to win.

HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE

Center Street Junctions Mercantile & More’s Holiday Open House will run from 7 to 9 p.m.Saturday, Nov. 9, at 101 Mashel Ave. N., in Eatonville. There will be a dessert buffet with wine and beer and a silent auction. The event costs $25 per person or $40 per couple.

GARDEN CLUB

Dogwood Garden Club's November meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14,  at the home of Ginny Phillips.  Katy Hoffman will be demonstrating holiday wreath ideas to give the club a head start on holiday decorating.. FRIENDS BOOK SALE

The Friends of the Eatonville Library Book Sale will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Saturday, Nov. 16, at 405 Center St. W., Eatonville. The sale will emphasize books and other items related to the Christmas season, so this will be a great opportunity to purchase inexpensive, but quality, early gifts for the holidays.  And, of course, it will support the Friends Group so that additional library programs can be planned. Prices will be half-off the regular low prices that are available in the lobby of the Eatonville Library during the week.

GRAHAM BUSINESS ASSOCIATION

Start the day right with the Graham Business Association’s Networking and Breakfast event at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at The Lodge at Frontier Park on Meridian in Graham. The program will be on “Choosing your taxable and legal entity,” to be presented by Steve Martinez, CPA.

INTERFAITH COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS CONCERT

The third annual Interfaith Community Christmas Concert will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 13612- 224th St. E., Graham. This event will feature an assortment of different failt traditions, with Christmas as a common link between them all.

GBA SCHOLARSHIP PLANNING COMMITTEE

The Annual Graham Business Association Scholarship Auction Planning Committee will soon be in full swing. A-STEM ACADEMY CAREER DAY

Career Day at Columbia Crest A-STEM Academy is scheduled for March 24. The school is trying to cover the following career paths: health and human services, science and natural resources, career and technical education, business management/administration and fine arts (to include culinary arts, music, etc.). Those who come to represent should be able to speak about their job role, the benefits and challenges of the job role, and the nuts and bolts of the work they do (i.e. salary, retirement, health benefits) Deb Noble Perry is looking for contacts of people who would be interested in participating and setting the stage for the future generation as they grow and develop through the education system and beyond. SCHOOL BACKPACKS

The Eatonville Family Agency, a nonprofit charitable organization, supports and runs the only backpack program in the Eatonville School District, which feeds around 100 children each weekend for the school year. CELEBRATE RECOVERY
