Denise Mary Elizabeth Olson
Denise passed away on August 1, 2019 after a lengthy illness. Denise was born in Milwaukee, WI on March 29, 1956 to Harvey and Marjorie Gendreau. She was raised in Escanaba, Michigan where she attended St. Joseph primary school and graduated from Escanaba High School in 1974. Denise moved to Southern California where she married Gerald Olson in 1981. They lived in various places in California including San Clemente where their son was born. They then moved to the Pacific Northwest where their daughter was born in Puyallup, WA. Denise lived for many years in Eatonville, WA where they raised their family. She worked at Auburn Valley Medical Center as a dietician for many years. Denise loved animals, especially dogs and they enjoyed the many they had over the years. She spent the last part of her life enjoying living on Mineral Lake and the beautiful sunsets on Mt. Rainier from her deck. Denise’s greatest joy in life was raising and caring for her children and grandchildren. She was a hard worker and a loving, caring woman who did all she could for her family. She is survived by her husband Gerald Olson of Mineral, WA, son Jake Olson of Tacoma, WA, daughter Jena Zaler (John) of Tacoma, WA and Grandchildren Makiley Olson & Lucas Zaler. Sisters Debra Sheedlo of Escanaba, Michelle Santee (John) of Arlington Heights, IL, Maureen Lippens of Escanaba. Brothers Harvey Gendreau (Tammy) of Kannapolis, NC, Paul Gendreau of Escanaba.
