The Sky Valley Arts Council installed a new roof on the old Startup Gym in December, and continues to renovate the historic space now known as the Startup Event Center.
Twenty people spent 127 collective hours during last weekend's first major work party, the council now focused on the siding and windows, as well as the park in front of the building; the council needs experienced painters, siders and plumbers. On top of the reward of hard work for a good cause, volunteers received some home-cooked food.
The Sky Valley Arts Council is holding another work party this weekend, meeting 8 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday at the Startup Event Center, 14315 366th Ave. S.E.
