Barbara Griffith passed away on February 24, 2016, after suffering from a stroke. She was born in Monroe, Washington in 1932 and spent most of her younger years growing up in Skykomish. She met her husband of 64 years, Robert "BobGÇ¥ Griffith, in Seattle at a drive-in on Aurora Ave. in 1952. They eventually moved from Seattle to Monroe in 1961. Barbara enjoyed golf, bowling, camping, gardening and the many wonderful times spent with friends at the East County Senior Center, Bunka, Red Hat Society and Tulalip Casino. Barbara had a long and varied career as a secretary. Her longest tenure was with the Monroe School District. Her educational aide position and working for, in her words, "The Best BossGÇ¥ she ever had, Mike Larson, lasted over 23 years. Barbara will be remembered for her energetic, loving spirit and being a pillar of strength to her entire family. She was a very special gift from God who will be deeply missed. Barbara is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert Griffith of Monroe, two sons, one grandchild and two greatgrandchildren. Family members held a private gathering of remembrance at the IOOF Cemetery in Monroe and no memorial service is planned. Those who wish may offer memorials in Barbara's honor to the East County Senior Center in Monroe, WA. A special thanks to Anita, Loretta, Janine and all of her many friends.
