Bearcat Beat | MHS students look to the end of the year

The end of the school year is only weeks away, and Monroe High School (MHS) is beginning to wrap up the year.

Last week, MHS students came together to celebrate all the incredible teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week. Students assembled an amalgamation of food to give the teachers for lunch, brought them breakfast during first period, made individualized signs and wrote thank you letters.-á

In addition, last week was also the last performance of "Band Geeks,GÇ¥ put on by the drama students. Their last showing was Saturday, May 9. Great job for putting on such impressive musical, drama students! -á

Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) is looking for student leaders. They are assembling their WIAA LEAP Committee for student leaders for next school year. Through the year, they-á meet about five times on Sundays. If you or anyone you know is interested, turn in your application by the deadline, May 31.-á

The Adventure Club will host its annual campout at Lake Cushman in the Olympic Peninsula May 29 through May 31.-á

The French Club will make crepes again on Wednesday, May 13, and anyone is welcome.-á

Spring sports are coming to an end. There are only a few regular season games remaining. Boys golf will have a meet today, May 12, at Walter Hall Golf Course, hosted by Cascade, at 2:30 p.m. And softball has one more regular-season game tonight, May 12, at Cascade High School against Cascade at 4 p.m.-á

Remember, there are only 18 school days left until graduation (June 6) and 24 school days left until the last day of school for all other students (June 15).-á
