Bicyclist injured on U.S. 2 dies

A man struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in the early hours of the morning on Feb. 6 has died.
Jerry Dale Kline, 54, of Snohomish was transported to Harborview after the collision, which occurred as he was riding his bike near the centerline of U.S. 2 near Roosevelt Road at about 12:30 a.m., when a vehicle came up behind him and struck him, according to the police report.
A friend of Kline said that he rode a bicycle because he didn't have a vehicle, but that he commuted to work by bus.
He was not wearing a helmet, according to the police report.
The driver of the SUV that struck him, a man, 49, of Monroe, was arrested for investigation of DUI.
Kline died Friday, Feb. 15.
The accident remains under investigation.
