Three injured in crash near Sultan

Three people were seriously injured in an automobile accident near Sultan on Monday afternoon, August 26.
The accident occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. at the 27700 block of Old Owen Road when a Volkswagen Jetta collided with a truck. Two people were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, and one man was treated at Valley General Hospital in Monroe. The Snohomish County Sheriff's office is still actively investigating the collision.
Investigators have determined that the Volkswagen Jetta, while being driven by a 20-year-old resident of unincorporated Monroe, was traveling eastbound when it traveled across the centerline and into the westbound lane, resulting in a collision with an oncoming truck.
The truck was driven by a 52-year-old man from Monroe, who was treated and later released from Valley General Hospital.
The female remains in serious condition at Harborview. Her passenger, a 23-year-old male who is believed to be from Canada, remains in critical condition, said Snohomish County Sheriff's Office Spokeswoman Shari Ireton.
The Snohomish County Sheriff's office is still actively investigating the collision.
