Burt Main September 9, 1923 - March 18, 2018

Burt Main was born September 9, 1923, in Snohomish WA. He passed away March 18, 2018 in Litchfield Park, AZ, surrounded by his family at the age of 94. Burt grew up in Monroe, WA and graduated from Monroe High School in 1942. Burt married his wife, Rusty in 1943 and they spent 71 years together before her passing in 2014. He served in WWII as a pilot in the Air Force. Post war, he remained in the Air Force Reserves and retired as Lt. Colonel. During that time, he owned and operated his own hardware store for 35 years.

After he retired from the hardware business, he served as a member of the Board of Directors for Everett Federal Bank. For 20 years Burt and Rusty wintered in Hawaii and made many good friends on and off the golf course. He loved to fish for steelhead in the rivers of Western WA. Burt filled his family’s lives with love and lots of good-hearted teasing. He will be remembered for his quick smile and genuine interest in others. His family is confident that their father is now in Heaven, free from pain, probably enjoying a glass of wine with Rusty.

Burt is survived by his son, Brian and his wife, Kristeen Main; his daughter, Connie and her husband Doug Dyer; his grandchildren, Kellie Schmidt and husband Peter; Kale Dyer and his wife, Adrianne, and his great-grandchildren Ellie, Carter, Jackson and Isaac. Memorial Services will be at the end of this July.
