Caught in the act: Mail thieves in Sultan arrested

Snohomish County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested two suspected package and mail thieves on Wednesday, Dec. 24, in Sultan.
At approximately 7:30 a.m., a Sultan resident noticed a man and a woman allegedly taking mail from a-ámailbox and grabbing a package from the front porch of a house located on-áthe 600 block of Date Avenue,-ánear Sultan Elementary School. The neighbor called 911 and described the suspects.
The deputy arrived shortly thereafter, located the suspects and detained them. The couple was in possession of a backpack full of stolen mail, along with at least one stolen package.
A 30-year-old male and a 26-year-old female, both Sultan residents, were arrested and booked into Snohomish County Jail.
Both-ásuspects were booked on felony charges of mail theft and possession of stolen mail. Bail was set at $10,000.
