The Monroe Concert Band is celebrating their 10th anniversary, with its first concert of the season and is asking the community to celebrate with them. The free concert will be held October 26 at 2 p.m. in the Wagner Performing Arts Center, 639 W. Main St,, Monroe.
10 years ago, Monroe Concert Band was just starting with 12 people. Now, they are 50 active members strong, with even more inactive members. The band has held 40 free, family-friendly concerts locally and has also been able to share music with the community during events such as Freedom Fest on the Naval base, performing at the Evergreen State Fair, and even playing at Warm Beach for the Lights of Christmas.
There will be a reception immediately following the concert for band members past, present, and future, as well as family, friends, and supporters.
