Clineene Hurley Smith – September 10, 1931 to December 28, 2017

Clineene Hurley Smith of Woodinville, WA entered Heaven on Dec. 28, 2017, the result of a cerebral hemorrhage. She was born in South Bend, WA on Sept. 10, 1931 to Cline William and Venora Armstrong Hurley. An only child, she was named after her father.

A 1949 graduate of Anacortes High School in Anacortes, WA, Clineene married Dale Lee on July 15, 1950 in Seattle, WA. They had three daughters. On Feb. 21, 1965 in Bothell, WA she married William C. Smith. Primarily a homemaker, Clineene partnered with her husband in business running Smith Fuel Co. in the Lake City district of Seattle, WA, and had numerous interests as a very active volunteer. An entrepreneur, Clineene founded Heronwood Farm, specializing in high quality fruit preserves produced in Gold Bar, WA. She loved nature, spending summers deep in the Wenatchee National Forrest in Eastern Washington at Trinity, a family owned copper mining town.

Clineene is survived by her children: Debera (Paul) Willis, Susan (Steven) Schwalb and Julie Lee-Hartman; her grandchildren, Jason Schwalb, Jaime (Jaime Rodrigues) Schwalb, Blake Willis, Morgan Willis and Madison Hartman, and her great-grand daughter, Samae Schwalb-Rodrigues. She is predeceased by her husband, William C. Smith and her grandson, Jordan Willis.

She also leaves behind her dear sisters-in-law, Violet Lee and Wilma Lee, many loving nieces and nephews, her step-children and families, and many dear friends.

In a private service, at her request, Clineene was entombed next to Bill at Acacia Mausoleum in Seattle, WA. In remembrance, donations may be made in her name to Evergreen Hospice Care, 12822 124th Ln NE, Kirkland, WA 98034. Clineene’s final care was entrusted to Beck’s Tribute Center, Edmonds, WA.
