The Monroe Concert Band is holding its annual Holiday Concert at Wagner Performing Arts Center Dec. 20, and this year the band felt that it was time to give back to the community.
They contacted Take the Next Step, which they said they feel is one of the most impacting nonprofit organizations to support those in need within the community.
During the concert, they will be hosting a food-and-needs drive. Take The Next Step has said that they can use nonperishable food, diapers, diaper wipes, hygiene products and gloves.
That is what the band plans to gather from the community and the band members.
They have also asked Take the Next Step leaders to share about their organization with the audience during the concert.
"We are excited to be able to give back to such a great community with such a great cause," said Anita Flickinger, with the Monroe Concert Band. "We ask that each audience member and band member bring at least one item to the concert to fit the needs of Take The Next Step."
The concert will take place Thursday, Dec. 20 at Wagner Performing Arts Center, 639 W. Main St. in Monroe, at 7 p.m.
