Correction: In the August 5 issue of the Monitor we reported that the IFH Group was moving to Monroe (Business Notes: Monroe Jewelers, Savvy Mattress closes, hot dog stand opens). Regarding that portion of the story, we received the following statement from Una Wirkebau-Hartt, director of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce:
My apologies for any misrepresentation I gave in reference to IFH Group and their new facility here in Monroe.-á
In June of this year, I had a lovely conversation with the President of IFH Group, Keith Ellefsen.-áHe was thrilled to begin the process of having the distribution portion of his facility up and running. Though he had no plans yet of moving to our location, he had been out several times and had met with the City about his enterprise.
We are always very happy to embrace new businesses when they come to town and the Chamber was eager to reach out.
When the Monitor called and inquired about any business briefs which could be included in the upcoming paper, I was thrilled to include the IFH Group information.-áOur conversation was brief and it included a number of other business related topics.-áIt was not the intention of the Chamber to portray any incorrect information about IFH Group, and if we have inadvertently done so, we are sincerely sorry.
