Crosswater Community Church in Sultan (307 Main St.) is hoping to raise $6,000 for well projects in developing countries around the world. The church will host a Walk for Water walk-a-thon, which will take place on Saturday, April 18, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Sultan High School (13715 310th Ave.).
Walk-a-thon participants are encouraged to seek pledges. The laps will be completed at the Sultan High School track, and attendees will be given the opportunity to carry buckets of water as they walk, to experience what it might be like for people around the world.
The event will conclude with a meal typical of what would be served in a Third World country.
