Dan Lee Blum, born July 7, 1924 in Seattle, WA to Thomas and May Blum, departed this life on July 18, 2016 in Snohomish, WA.-á He was 92.-á Dan graduated from Edmonds High School, Class of 1942.-á Shortly thereafter he served his country in the Navy during WWII.-á He was the co-founder and president of Alpine Equipment Rentals.-á Dan enjoyed volunteering at the East County Senior Center, where his passion for service earned him the Silver Star Certificate of Recognition, which was awarded to him on April 23, 2015.-á He was a skilled woodworker, liked fishing, and loved getting together with friends and family.-á Dan is survived by his sons Robert Blum (Gina) of Bothell and Scott Blum (Sherry) of Snohomish, brother Gene Blum of Graham, grandchildren Katya, Mieke, Tedric, Miranda, and Michael, and great-grandchildren Alyssa and Collin.-á He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol A. Blum, in 2004. Memorial donations in his name may be made to the East County Senior Center, 276 Sky River Pkwy, Monroe, WA 98272.
