Earl M. Kolrud
June 3, 1924 - December 17, 2014
Earl Milton Kolrud was born to John and Anna Kolrud in Nome, North Dakota. He was the oldest of seven children, and the world's best big brother. He left home to work at the age of nine to help his family survive during the Depression.
Earl married Lorraine Wieers on January 28, 1952. They lived in Page, North Dakota, for many years, where they raised their five children; and he worked for Cass County Electric. Many times he worked two or three jobs to support his family. He was the Boy Scout leader, and would help drive the town ambulance, and assist anyone in need. Once he found a large merry-go- round in an abandoned school yard. By himself, he hauled it to Page, and put it in the town park for the kids to enjoy.
Earl and Lorraine moved their family to Monroe, Washington in August 1968 where he worked for Snohomish County PUD until he retired to care for our mom until her death on January 6, 1990.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents John and Anna; his wife, Lorraine; sisters, Norma Bratland and Ruth Baarstad; brother, Art Kolrud; great-grandson, Isaac Earl Sharpes; daughter-in-law, Cathy Kolrud and nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his children, Debbie Sharpes, Gary (Deb), Ken (Karin), Tammy and Randy Kolrud. Also surviving are the light of his life, his grandchildren, Greg (Michele) Sharpes, Brian Sharpes, Kaylee (Nick) Hansen, Kacey Kolrud, Korey Kolrud, Kelly Kolrud and Jerrad Kolrud and his great-grandchildren Anna, Sean, and Ryan Sharpes, and Kasen and Macklen Hansen. His brothers Dale (Bernice), John (Arlene), and Harold (Dodie) Kolrud survive him in North Dakota, as well as many nieces and nephews, and a brother-in-law/sister-in-law on our mom's side, Lennie (Bonnie) Wieers.
We will love and miss you always! Until we meet again...
