Epilepsy walk raises $3,000 for research, resources

The contestants in the first annual-áMonroe Run/Walk for Epilepsy gather around the starting line at Lake Tye Park in Monroe Saturday.
Most came to walk; the sole runner was Tholen Blasko, far right, age 14, from Sultan.
The rest walked and pushed strollers-áaround the lake.
"All of you people here have raised $3,000 in the last month," said event organizer Kerri Arellano during the kick-off. "This will be so much bigger in the years to follow. Thank you all so much."
The funds go to support research into epilepsy and to resources for those affected by epilepsy.
