Flashback: Stephens-Bird Logging & Lumber Company logging train

Stephens-Bird Lumber Company was established sometime around 1908 on the east bank of the Snoqualmie River near High Bridge. E. Milton Stephens was the president, his brother, Elmer, was the vice-president, and Benjamin F. (B.F. or Buns) Bird, the secretary-treasurer. They later took over Forks Logging Company, High Rock Logging Company and the Cascade Mill in Snohomish. The mills operated until around 1923. Tracks ran from their logging camps around High Rock to the mill.
