Flashback: Train Wreck at Reiter

The wreck of the Great Northern fast mail train at Reiter occurred on Nov. 8, 1922. Engineer Johnny Marriot was killed in the wreck. The pony trucks derailed after leaving Gold Bar and bumped along the ties for some time with the crew unaware; finally catching on something and skewering the engine around.
