This undated photo of the Wagner Memorial Auditorium at 639 West Main St. faces west. The auditorium was dedicated in September, 1939 as part of the new Monroe Junior High School. The school building cost just under $135,000, of which $30,000 was donated outright by Frank Wagner to construct this auditorium in the memory of his father, George Wagner, who had died in 1931.
