Frances Joan (Philp) O'Brien, born Aug. 9, 1934 in Seattle, WA, passed away in her sleep at home Sept. 6, 2013.
Frances grew up in Seattle and graduated from West Seattle High School 1952. As a young "military wife" she moved with her four children often, making lifelong friends wherever she went, eventually returning to the Seattle area where she raised her children as a single mother. She retired from the Boeing blueprint drafting dept.
Frances loved traveling and spending time with her family and her precious Chihuahuas. She opened her-áhome to many people who needed a place to live.-áShe will be remembered for her positive attitude, always happy and upbeat, ready for an outing, a trip or adventure. She lived with Alzheimer's disease the last several years of her of life but her strong, playful-ápersonality was still present.
Frances is preceded in death by her beloved brother, William Philp. She is survived-áby her-áchildren, Kearry (Joan) O'Brien, Barry O'Brien, Cheryl Kasch and Merrilee O'Brien; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; her brother, Clyde (Linda) Philp, half-brothers, Randy, Thomas and Byron; and half-sisters Rosa and Gladys.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at Purdy and Kerr with Dawson Funeral Home, 409 W. Main St., Monroe, WA on Oct 12, 2013 at 4 p.m.
