During the first two weeks of November, students at Fryelands Elementary held a drive to collect non-perishable food items and money to be donated for Thanksgiving meals for the Sky Valley Food Bank's clients.
The kids collected 1,900 items weighing 1,718 pounds, and raised nearly $500 dollars.
"As always, their efforts are greatly appreciated by the volunteers and clients at the Food Bank, where we provided holiday food for 300 grateful families," said Neil Watkins, director of the food bank.
