Letter Carriers' Drive delivers tons to food bank

To the editor:
We want to offer a huge "thank youGÇ¥ to the generous citizens of Monroe and to our dedicated letter carriers from the Postal Service.-á On May 11th the Sky Valley Food Bank was the recipient of 9,254 pounds of non-perishable food collected from mail boxes throughout the community.-á The 2013 Letter Carriers' Food Drive will make a major difference in feeding our city's hungry through the lean summer months.-á We appreciate all the extra work involved for our post office employeesGǪthanks for putting in such a long, hard day on behalf of our neighbors in need!-á Big thanks as well to the 35 volunteers who worked all afternoon at the Food Bank to get everything sorted and stowed away.-á We are grateful to live in such a caring, giving community!
