Governor honors Skykomish School District for achievement


Skykomish School Superintendent Edwina Hargrave was-áhonored-áby Governer Jay Inslee and State School-áSuperintendent-áRandy Dorn-áin a ceremony at the-ágovernor's-ámansion on March 13 for her school's successful recognition as a-áTitle I, Part A Academic Achievement school.
Skykomish School-áDistrict received-áthe award for significantly raising student achievement levels in math for three consecutive years. The school will-áreceive-áa $10,000 award to be used for the purchase of new technologies to help strengthen the school's math curriculum, along with enhancing teacher training programs.
"These schools are doing excellent work in bridging opportunity gaps and helping students succeed,GÇ¥ said Governor Inslee. "Congratulations to each of these schools and to the teachers, school staff, parents and community members who have been such an important part of their efforts," he continued.
