The Sultan Sportsmen's Club annual Fishing Derby for Kids returns to Ed Boucher's stocked ponds on E. Wisteria Lane in Sultan (two blocks north of Sultan H.S.), Saturday, May 31 from 10 a.m. to noon.
There will be girls' and boys' divisions, offering prizes for biggest fish and most fish. The age groups are 2-6 years and 7-14 years. All contestants must be accompanied by an adult.
Power Bait has been the most effective lure at the ponds in the past.

The Monroe Rod and Gun Club annual Kids' Fishing Derby will be Saturday, June 7. Check in starts at 8 a.m. The fishing derby runs from 9 to 11 a.m.
Kids will be divided into three age groups; 0-6 years, 7-9 years and 10-12 years. Please bring your own gear.
The derby will be held on Ben Howard Road, approximately 5.8 miles east of Lewis Street. Signs will be posted.
