Jackson runs past Monroe in opening day defeat

Quarterback #12 Andrew Zimmerman hands the ball off to #15 Shaden Mixayphone in Friday's season home opener against Jackson High School.
Both schools' offenses were in control of the game, giving each other's defenses a run for their money.
It was special teams that carried the day for the Timberwolves, who scored twice on kick returns and once on a punt return.
At the half, Jackson looked poised to trounce the Bearcats, holding a 38-7 lead. The Bearcats battled their way to 37 points, but were never able to close the considerable gap, which widened to 38 points going into the fourth quarter.
The game ended at Monroe 37, Jackson 59.
