Jeanette Johnson, 94, passed away Nov. 2 at her home in Sultan with her daughter, Judy, by her side.
Jeanette was born May 19, 1919 in Hoquiam, Wash. to William and Mattie Johnston. She was the youngest of seven children and the only one to graduate high school. In 1939 she married Jack Brown.
Jeanette was primarily a housewife and mother but found time to be den mother to her son's scout troop, perform in civic musicals and create ceramics. She had quite the artistic eye. Birthday parties were always a big affair and Jeanette really knew how to create a good time for all
After the untimely death of Jack in 1958, Jeanette met Harold Johnson and in 1959 they moved to the Monroe area. She was very active in the Monroe Congregational Church youth group, choir and ladies' group, as well as the Monroe Garden Club. She and Harold were also very involved in the Lions Club.
After Harold's retirement they spent several years "snowbirdingGÇ¥ to Hemet, Calif. where they learned to square dance with a whole new group of friends. In 1989 they moved to Sultan.
Jeanette touched the lives of many of the friends of her children and she will always be remembered for the good times she created for them. Heaven has welcomed a great lady.
Jeanette was preceded in death most recently by her husband, Harold and her granddaughter, Candy Chambard.
Jeanette is survived by her son, Larry (Barbara) Brown; daughters, Judy Chambard and Laurie (Marvin) Flickner; grandchildren, Jack, Lisa, Ron, Scott, Mark, Doug, Josh and Julie; and 12 great-grandchildren.
