Lane closures between Sultan, Snohomish next two weeks

PUD installing fiber optics

Drivers commuting between Sultan and Snohomish can expect some delays this week.

Sections of roadway will be down to one lane between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, to Friday, Aug.18. About 12.7 miles of roadway will be affected.

The closures are so the Snohomish County Public Utility District can attach fiber optic cable to installed poles. Emergency vehicles and school district transportation will be able to access the routes at all times.

The first section starts at the 13200 block of Sultan Basin Road, and stretches for 1.1 miles to 116th Street Southeast. It  continues west, and then north to the PUDS's Jackson Hydro Project Powerhouse. The route then heads east from the intersection of 106th Place Southeast and Woods Lake Road for 4.5 miles, and west to the intersection of Bollenbaugh Hill Road and 105th Street Southeast, where one leg of the project extends for less than a mile north.

From 10424 Bollenbaugh Hill Road it branches west for 4.6 miles to the intersection of Trombley  and Spada roads.

Another leg that is just more than half a mile long spans South Spada Road to the intersection of Iverson Road and 171st Avenue Southeast in Snohomish.
