MainVue team builds community service rep with Monroe projects

When the MainVue Homes management team was figuring out where to dedicate its efforts during the company's first MainVue Day volunteer event, it decided Monroe would be the perfect place.

MainVue is a part of Henley Properties Group, an Australian firm that specializes in new home construction. MainVue arrived in the Seattle area about four years ago, and is just now beginning to extend its philanthropic efforts. MainVue communities exist in Auburn, Mill Creek, Kent, Bothell and Monroe. The design and construction firm built Monroe's Eaglemont subdivision, a 63-home community off of Chain Lake Road.

MainVue has offices in both Washington and Texas.

"Philanthropy is a huge priority,GÇ¥ said Tessa Rowe, MainVue marketing services and design manager. "In Australia, they have been actively participating in their communities for 25 years, and have given away more than $18 million to date.GÇ¥

Fourteen MainVue employees braved a heavy downpour to work at Monroe's Rotary Field last Thursday. Volunteers spent the day landscaping, pulling weeds, pressure washing the dugout areas and painting the new dugout covers at nearby Sky River Park. Monroe's Rotary Field is home to the Miracle League, a baseball league for children with disabilities coordinated by the YMCA.

Twenty-one MainVue employees spent Thursday and Friday at Pasado's Safe Haven animal sanctuary, located on an 85-acre property between Monroe and Sultan. Pasado's has been operating for 22 years. A 501(C)3 nonprofit, the animal sanctuary relies solely on volunteers, donations, grants and fundraising events. Pasado's primary mission ' and foundation upon which it was built ' is to end animal cruelty.

MainVue volunteers spent time washing dishes, cleaning, scrubbing water tubs and doing laundry in Pasado's "Healing Barn,GÇ¥ the sanctuary's on-site veterinary care clinic. Volunteers also labored outside, clearing out four adjoining off-leash dog areas. Workers clipped back blackberry brambles and mowed down areas of tall grass and weeds to restore the area.

"We have a lot of animal lovers at MainVue, so Pasado's was a natural fit for us,GÇ¥ Rowe said.
