A man who police say pretended to be a detective so he could carry a gun at the Evergreen Fairgrounds Gun Show has turned himself in, said the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.
Police this week asked the public for help finding Antonio Coddute-Farrison, 24, a man they said has a history of pretending to be a law enforcement officer.
Saturday, Feb. 15, the man went to the monthly gun show at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds, at which carrying a loaded gun is not permitted. He was asked if he was armed and said he was, but showed the security person at the door a badge and said he was an undercover detective.
Coddute-Farrison was also driving a Ford Expedition that had had been retired from the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office. It was equipped with a siren and lights. In Washington, only white or amber lights are permitted to civilians, and only for those who do things like funeral escorts, snow removal and road crew work.
Furthermore, it isn't legal for Coddute-Farrison to have a gun.
According to the Sheriff's Office, it's not the first time he's impersonated an officer. It is believed he may have law enforcement gear such as weapons, a Taser, handcuffs and a ballistics vest.
Police would like to talk to anyone who thinks they may have been stopped by Cofddute-Farrison while he was pretending to be an officer. He is black, about six feet tall and 180 pounds.
