Manuel Norris Odom

Manny, 87, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness on April 10, 2014.
Born in Wiergate, Texas on January, 25, 1927, he left home at a young age and was in the Navy during WWII and in the Army during the Korean War.
Manny is survived by his wife, Sue; four children, Dorothea of Albuquerque, George of Oakland, Melkor of Sedro Woolley and Valerie (and Darrell Cobbins) of Atlanta; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild; as well as three siblings.
He was a perennial student and lover of learning, and generous and friendly to all. He was very active in the Monroe Congregational Church where he was known for his great cooking and barbecues.
A memorial service at Monroe Congregational Church will be held on Memorial Day, May 26, at 1 p.m., to be followed by a celebration of life potluck, barbecue at his home at Liberty Bell Farms in Snohomish.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Monroe Congregational Church or Evergreen Hospice.
