Children's Programs:
Ready Readers, Baby and Me Storytime: Tuesdays, Jan. 6, 13, 20 and 27, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Stories, songs, rhymes, and activities that inspire a love of reading. Playtime follows. For newborns through 18 months. Caregiver required.
Ready Readers, Toddler Storytime: Jan. 7, 14, 21 and 28, 10:30 a.m. to noon. Stories, music and movements that nurture the desire to read in toddlers. Playtime or craft may follow. For ages 18 months to 3 years. Caregiver required.
Ready Readers, Preschool Storytime: Thursdays, Jan. 8, 15, 22 and 29, 10 to 11 a.m. Books, sing-along songs, and creative activities that prepare young minds for reading. For ages 3-5.

Family Programs
Science Rocks! Saturday, Jan. 3, 2 to 3 p.m.Explore the world of geology (the science of rocks) with hands-on experiments and learn how to make discoveries of your own. For school age children.
LEGO-« Lab: Friday, Jan. 9, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.Build to your heart's content using LEGO-« and K'NEX!
Drop In Craft: Monday, Jan. 12, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.Enjoy a craft activity to make and take an discover useful library resources for more family fun.
Adventures in Entomophagy: Waiter, There's NO Fly in My Soup!
Wednesday, Jan. 14, 7 to 8 p.m. More than 80 percent of the world's cultures eat insects. Why don't we? Join David Gordon, author of "The Eat-a-Bug Cookbook" for an adventure in entomophagy [eating bugs], and prepare yourself for the next big revolution in food production GÇô using crickets, mealworms, and other eco-friendly alternatives to meat. The program concludes with free samples of edible insect snacks for everyone who attends. A book signing will follow.
Ready Readers, Family Storytime: Thursday, Jan. 15, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Stories, live music, and fun activities. All ages welcome.
Pajama Storytime/Cuentos y Pijamas: Monday, Jan. 26, 7 to 7:45 p.m.Come wearing your pajamas for stories, songs, fingerplays, and fun! A craft may follow.
Teen Programs:
Junior Monroe Wednesday Writers: Wednesdays, Jan. 7, 14, and 21, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Support and guidance for teen writers, led by published author Bernadette Pajer and Teen Librarian Marina Malcevski. All writers in grades 6-12 are welcome.
DIY Crafts for Teens: Tuesday, Jan. 13, 3 to 4:30 p.m.Create crafts with other teens, work on a project together and enjoy some snacks. Also, learn about awesome library resources that can help your creative sparks grow.
Finals Caf+¬: Thursday, Jan. 22 and Sunday, Jan. 25, 4 to 8 p.m. Hang out at the Finals Cafe where you can study, ask library staff for help or take a quick study break with a game and some snacks.
Monroe Library Teen Advisory Board: Tuesday, Jan. 7, 3:30 p.m.
Enjoy some snacks and share ideas for library programs, purchases and improvements while earning volunteer credit.
Teen Gaming: Got Game? Tuesday, Jan. 27, 3 to 4:30 p.m.Bring friends or drop in and make some new ones. Enjoy Wii, XBOX Kinect and PlayStation 2 games including Guitar Hero, Dance Dance Revolution, Mario Kart and more. Board games and snacks available. For ages 12 to 18.

Turn on the Tech, eReader Extravaganza: Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2 to 3 p.m. A hands-on Tech extravaganza to learn the ins and outs of downloading books, movies, and more from the library. Bring your device and any cords or account logon information you might need!
Turn on the Tech, iPad 101: Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2 to 3 p.m. Learn how to download eBooks with ease. Bring your iPad or other iDevice, its USB/charging cable, library card, and iTunes account logon information. Please preregister online or by phone.
Tip Top Pets Animal Health Series: Arthritis: Tuesday, Jan. 20, 7 to 8 p.m.
Keep your pet in tip-top condition by joining local veterinarian Dr. Frank Bousaid of Harmony Animal Wellness Center to learn the what, why, and how of arthritis.

Computer Skills for the Workplace, Word 2013: Wednesday, Jan. 28, 7 to 8 p.m.Need Word for work? Want to have your resume pop? Come join us for an overview of the training tools that are available to you and learn how to acquire the skills you need.

Children and Families:
LEGO-« Club: Saturday, Jan. 10, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Build whatever you can imagine through individual projects, cooperative play and free exploration. For ages 5-12.
Winter Crafternoon Drop-in Art Projects: Saturday, Jan. 24, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Drop by the children's area of the library to use our craft supplies to create winter treats, holiday cards, and other winter works of art.
Squishy Circuits: Monday, Jan. 26, 11:30 a.m. Get electric at your library by creating conductive circuits using play-dough! Have fun discovering basic circuitry and learn about library resources that can help you take it further. We'll provide the supplies. Tweens ages 9-12. All Ages
Book a Librarian: Thursdays, Jan. 8, 15, 22 and 29, 11:30 a.m. eed some tech help? Need assistance using library resources? Frustrated with the Internet? Get one-on-one assistance with computing, digital devices, free library downloads, or using Sno-Isle Library's catalog and databases.
Book and Bake Sale: Saturday, Jan. 31, 8:30 a.m. to 5 pm. Gently-used books at bargain prices, and a bake sale, too. Donations of books, movies, and music in good condition gladly accepted. Proceeds support library programs, furnishings, and supplies.
Adults
Friends of the Library Meeting: Thursday, Jan. 15, 9:30 to 11 a.m. Enhance your local library through a variety of fundraisers, including book sales, bake sales, and more.
Getting Started with eBooks and Other Downloadable Content: Saturday, Jan. 17, 2:30 to 4 p.m. An overview of various downloadable library resources. Ample time will be provided for device-specific questions. Please bring a valid library card in good standing, your eReader device, and any passwords, Amazon account information, Adobe IDs, or other information required for your device.
