The City of Monroe is seeking dedicated residents of the Monroe Library Capital Facility Area interested in serving on the City of Monroe Library Board.
The Library Board serves as an advisory board to the Monroe City Council and acts as liaison between the city council and the Sno-Isle Libraries, which provides library services to residents of the Monroe Library Capital Facility Area.
Library Board members serve a five-year term-á The Library Board meets the second Thursday of the month in February, May, August, and November at 7 p.m. in the Monroe Library Meeting Room.
To be considered for an appointment to the Library Board, send a letter addressed to Mayor Robert Zimmerman at Monroe City Hall, 206 West Main St., Monroe WA 98272. The letter should explain your interest in being a Library Board member. It should also include information relating to your employment, education, hobbies and life experience that might contribute to service on the Library Board. The city council confirms the mayor's appointments to the board. The city council supports appointments that represent all cultural and ethnic groups and physical abilities.-á Applicants with a variety of skills, interests, and experiences are encouraged to apply.
After the mayor has reviewed your letter of interest, you will be contacted to arrange a personal interview. Members of the Library Board serve without monetary compensation.
