Monroe School Board to hold public hearing on capital projects fund budget extension

The Monroe School District Board of Directors will hold a public hearing on its 2017-18 Capital Projects Fund Budget Extension at 6 p.m. Monday, June 11, at the district’s administration office, 200 E. Fremont St.

Board members will be voting to request the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction allow the district to increase its capital projects budget appropriations by 13.51 percent, from $55,717,886 to $63,245,698, to account for ongoing expenditures related to modernizing Park Place Middle School, Salem Woods Elementary and Frank Wagner Elementary, plus other miscellaneous projects.
